Character
The story centers on Lagoona confronting her stage fright, triggered by Toralei, leading to an adventure in the Great Scarrier Reef where she reunites with family and old rival Kala.
During a normal day at Monster High, Frankie, Draculaura and Clawdeen practice dancing in the Clawditorium under Toralei's tutelage. Lagoona reveals her talent privately but freezes when seen by Gil, explaining her past at the Great Scarrier Reef.
Toralei exposes Lagoona's dancing, leading to embarrassment and a viral video. A party turns chaotic, sucking the group into the ocean where they transform and meet Posea Reef.
They encounter Kala, Lagoona's former friend, and meet Lagoona's family: father Wade, sister Kelpie, brothers Dewey, Tadpole and Squirt. Facing the Mer'ri, a dance competition, and revelations, Lagoona overcomes her fear.
Kala and sisters Peri and Pearl Serpentine plot against Lagoona. The Mer'ri is revealed as Kala's father, leading to reconciliation.
